Contribution of the different altimeters to the gridded product

This diagnostic displays the number of crossing points per day within 24 hours of each other, on which all calculations are based. We can untilize this information to quantify the fraction of multi-mission merged product (L4) coming from each sensor.

Formal mapping error

The following figure presents the monitoring of the mean formal mapping error  associated to the gridded SLA product (6-day delay map) for the Global ocean (see DUACS products).

Eddy Kinetic Energy

The Eddy Kinetic Energy is deduced from the anomalies of the geostrophic current. The mean EKE is monitored over the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Global ocean excluding the equatorial band (±5°N) (see DUACS products).
